Coming Together to Create Change

As a catalyst for change, The Montana Native Homeownership Coalition utilizes our deep understanding of homeownership in Native communities to transform challenges into opportunities. We acknowledge the systemic inequities that have led to lower rates of homeownership in Montana’s Native communities and are collectively formulating innovative solutions to reverse this trend. Through an inclusive and collaborative platform, our diverse group of stakeholders leverage knowledge and resources to forge new pathways to Native homeownership.

Homeownership is a foundational element that increases stability, health, and strength of communities across multiple dimensions –family structure, lifestyle, culture, education, and economy. Despite challenges, homeownership is possible for Native Americans in Montana.

OUR VISION

The Montana Native Homeownership Coalition envisions thriving Native American communities with robust economies led by abundant Native homeownership. This is supported by well-developed infrastructure, quality housing stock, affordable financing options, and multiple homebuyer resources.

PURPOSE

The Montana Native Homeownership Coalition works to reverse inequities and increase homeownership opportunities for Native Americans in Montana.

SOLUTION

The Coalition serves as a collaborative platform where stakeholders join together to form innovative solutions that mitigate long-standing challenges surrounding Native American homeownership in Montana.

IMPACT

Our diverse group of stakeholders has taken several steps to launch this statewide Coalition, including conducting a feasibility study, formulating a strategic plan, securing a fiscal sponsor and critical start-up funding, and hosting a series of convenings.
